Strathyre Outdoors was established in April 2015 by Kenny & Barbara Higgins. Since creating and establishing the popular Strathyre Music Festival in 2012. Kenny and Barbara have carried out research into Strathyre’s potential as a Tourist destination. Feedback from visitors to the Festival and other events in the village was complimentary on Strathyre’s impressive setting and landscape. However, the recurring feedback included suggestions that “there is nothing to do here”. It was mostly for this reason that Kenny and Barbara formed Strathyre Outdoors.

Strathyre has a wealth of natural fauna and flora and an abundance of wildlife all around the village. There were a few fun activities in the area but few realise they are available. Strathyre Outdoors has collaborated and partnered with popular activity providers to develop a portfolio of family friendly activities that we are finding have wide appeal to new visitors and to those future visitors that chose to holiday in Strathyre and surrounding area.

Strathyre Outdoors, as a Social Enterprise, recognises the vital importance of Tourism, which the village relies on to maintain and boost its local economy. Through its strategic aims, Strathyre Outdoors will ensure its activities offer direct benefits to the local community and its businesses. Strathyre has been unintentionally neglected as a Tourism destination and we are committed to addressing this with existing plans to promote Strathyre Outdoors activities and the surrounding area through collaboration with Scotland’s tourism outlets such as: Visit Scotland, Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and many others.
